Amsterdam and its famed system of historic canals could soon be home to something never-before-seen in the Netherlands’ capital city: surfing. Per a new proposal, a plan to build a wave pool within one of the city’s canals has been submitted. Pending approval, the wave pool would be developed in the Johan van Hasseltkanaal, which occupies the northern region of the city. It would utilize SurfLoch technology, similar to what’s already being used in Rotterdam at the RiF010 wave pool.
